Dearest Divas...
Are you Going Green? Gone Green? Green with Envy? Considered
Green but are frightened of the commitment? Fear not, Venus Divas to
the eco-friendly rescue!
As many may know, I live in tree-hugger country (a loving term for
those that live in the great NW... Oregon & Washington State). Having
grown up in NJ, I was a city-girl who embraced everything that the
bight-lights had to offer... the fashions... the makeup... the dosing of
designer perfume... the mile-high hair sprayed to the hilt (yes I am a
product of the 80's!)... But something happened along the way to my home
amongst the evergreens... I started to slow down... breathe in the mountain
air... become conscious of my surroundings... question what went into the
trash... planted a few seeds... sorted recycling... started a compost
heap! (Okay, that last one... my husband tends to this personally).
Slowly but surely... I became an eco-lovin' Diva!
Now don't get me wrong, I am not even close to the 'farm' life...
seriously, if left on my own in nature I would never make it out alive...
but put me on the streets of NY and I can still survive-and-thrive! But
over the years, I have embraced a more natural way of living that
includes what I put IN, ON and AROUND my body... from natural air
fresheners made from pure essential oils, to organic beauty products
and produce, I make conscious choices to live an eco-friendly
lifestyle. I understand that our daily decisions (however small) do
make a difference. Do I get it right 100% of the time... no, I am
still learning 'how' to be green... and in those moments when I don't
quite 'get-it-right' I treat myself with grace and kindness and know
that I will make better choices next time.
